Blogging in My Pajamas: How Did Palin Know?

Well, I knew that Gov. Palin wasn't a fan of those wacky mainstream media types. But in an interview with Greta Van Susteren, she referred to bloggers as "kids in pajamas sitting in the basement of their parents' homes" making up rumors and lies about her.

For the record:
1. I am not a kid. (I'm 44.)
2. I don't blog in the basement of my parents' house. (I have my own house, and my parents' house doesn't have a basement.)
3. Sometimes, but not always, I blog in my pajamas.

Watch the full interview if you're interested.

Hilarious. I do worry about all of the attention she is receiving making her relevant.

I watched the OPB doc on Lee Atwater tonight and there is still the possibility of the American people voting against their own self interests based on negative sound bites. I can't decide if I want Palin to fade away or stay in the spotlight so we are completely sick of her by 2012.
I wrote her last week to continue with her mission to support children with disabilities and plan to continue doing this. If I knew she would actually receive it I was thinking about sending her Kathie Snow's manual, Revolutionary common sense for raising children with disabilities. I am hoping she gets past the "special blessing, special love" thing and uses her savvy to truly be a leader for inclusion, allowing people with pre-existing conditions to be insured, and addressing the staggering unemployment and drop out rate of people with disabilities. Thanks for inspiring writing her a letter. I wrote McCain as well and put my two cents in at change.gov about addressing the institutional bias and how many families actually give their child up still at the urging of MD's and County/State agencies......oh and I am also blogging in my PJ's :)

Now that the election is over, I hope this website will devote itself to special needs as opposed to being a Palin-bashing site. I hope too that this site will devote itself to ensuring that the Obama administration delivers on the promises it made.

As the mother of a daughter with Down Syndrome, I hope too that bloggers on here will spend some of their blogging time on the HuffPo and other sites contradicting some of the hate-filled comments about Trig Palin, the loony theories about his birth and defending the rights of all people with Down Syndrome to be born, to be educated, to thrive and to participate fully through integration into mainstream schools and the community.

Thank you.

Thanks for commenting, Jaz. I do plan to closely follow the Obama Administration's work on these issues. We are just one week away from the election, though, and I'm also watching for signs that McCain and Palin will follow through on their interest in autism and other issues -- which is why I carefully reviewed Palin's lengthy interviews with Matt Lauer and Greta Van Susteren to determine if she still plans to be an "advocate and friend" as governor. No, this will not be a Palin-bashing site, because there are more important things to deal with. But as I follow the new administration, I will keep an eye on her and McCain since they have gone on the record as caring about these issues.
