Advocating for children and adults with disabilities, this blog began during the 2008 presidential campaign to track the candidates' positions and records. Citizen advocacy for people with disabilities and their families is critical, and not just during election seasons. Don't let your elected officials play politics with your children and loved ones. They deserve better.

Puppy "Not a Pet, but a Friend" to Twins with Autism
As Autism Awareness Month begins, take a look at this touching story about how a dog is helping twins with autism.
Amazing. We have a son with Autism and when he was two, he was a runner/wanderer and did not respond to being called. We were in te market for a new puppy so i bought a herding bread and from the first day we brought her home, Mabel kept our Superman in the yard. Some herders nip, but Mabel never nipped, she just ran tight circles around our son and kept him where he needed to be.
Superman is great and Mabel no longer needs to herd him. They are just good buddies now.
